Honorable mentions may also be awarded and will be allowed to pick an item from the above list. We will favor entries that match the inventive spirit of our artists, so plumb the creative depths of the mind to show us why artistic expression matters.

Hello friends of Illegal Art! With the sweltering heat of summer rapidly approaching, we are convinced this is the perfect time to dust off the creativity cap. Illegal Art is pleased to announce a new contest that will net the victor a hot prize package containing every Illegal Art release of 2012... including upcoming albums that won't be available to the general public for months.
Our driving philosophy here at Illegal Art is that music is something everyone should be free to enjoy and create. The expression of music needs the flexibility to take any shape or form that the artist desires, and that is what we strive to support at our label. We are passionate about artistic freedom, and we hope you share that same fervor.
Now you have an opportunity to articulate that passion, in whatever way you see fit! Submissions are free to take any form the creator desires. Essays, pictures, videos, songs, and anything in between are all fair game. Send in your submissions of anything that expresses how you feel about the Illegal Art philosophy and its artists. The hand-picked winning submissions will be featured on Illegal Art's Facebook , Twitter, and Tumblr accounts. Between those three sites we have a presence of over 24,000 followers, so winners will have their creations shared with thousands of fellow fans.
The rules are symbolically non-existent. There are no age restrictions and no limit to the number of entries a single person can submit. The deadline for submissions is midnight on July 13th, so be sure to have everything turned in by then! Email all submissions, as well as any comments or questions to . Winners will be notified via email, and will be asked to provide contact information in order to ship out the prize package.
